WPT 2025 World Championship Schedule Revealed

The World Poker Tour has released the complete schedule for its 2025 World Championship, confirming a 78-event series set to run from December 2 through 22 at Wynn Las Vegas. The announcement follows a banner 2024 that featured a $5 million freeroll and a raucous Main Event win by Scott Stewart, who returns this year to defend his title in what’s expected to be another stacked championship field.

While the tour has yet to reveal all of its surprises — teasing “special announcements” in the lead-up — the current schedule already reflects WPT’s most ambitious offering to date.

Spotlight on the Prime and World Championships

The $1,100 WPT Prime Championship starts on December 7 with four Day 1 flights and a $5 million guarantee. After playing down to a final table by December 12, the remaining players will return on December 20 for a televised finale.

The centerpiece of the series — the $10,400 WPT World Championship — runs from December 13 to 19, featuring three Day 1 flights. The live-streamed final table is set for December 21. Last year’s event drew 2,392 entries and awarded Scott Stewart a first-place prize of $2,563,900.

Key Events From the WPT 2025 Schedule

WPT 2025 features a notable push into mixed games, with HORSE and TORSE Championships on December 17 and 18, alongside Omaha/8, Big O, Triple Draw, and 5-Card PLO games available throughout the series. There will, of course, be plenty of NLH.

Satellites, Player Events, and What’s Next

WPT is once again offering Milestone Satellites for most key events, with entry points starting as low as $200, all of which feed directly into the Prime, World Championship, and $3K NLH.

In addition to gameplay, the Players Party returns to Area15 on December 12, open to those registered in the Prime, World, and Ladies Championships — a now-expected midpoint celebration before the final stretch of the series kicks off.

Organizers have also teased more to come, hinting at additional announcements that could include further prize pool boosts, surprise guests, or last-minute high-stakes additions.
