The PGT PLO Series Returns to Las Vegas With Ten Events
The PokerGO Tour is heading back to the ARIA next week, and with it comes one of the most anticipated runs on the schedule: the PGT PLO Series. From October 14 to 25, the PokerGO Studio will host ten straight days of pot-limit Omaha, drawing some of the game’s best, big prize pools, and serious leaderboard implications as the race toward the $1,000,000 championship continues.
Now in its sixth edition, every event counts toward the season standings, and as there are only a few months left to lock up a spot in December’s championship freeroll, the pressure ramps up quickly.
What’s on the Schedule
The series begins Monday, October 14, with Event #1: a $5,100 PLO tournament. Event #2 follows on Tuesday as a progressive bounty with the same buy-in, and Event #3 on Wednesday returns to the standard structure. Beginning Thursday, the stakes climb to $10,100 with Event #4, and that same buy-in carries into Friday’s Event #5 – another progressive bounty.
After a break on Sunday, play resumes with a $10K on Monday, followed by two $15,100 events – one standard on October 21, and the return of the mystery bounty format on October 22. The final preliminary is another $15,100 on October 23.
The $25,200 Championship starts October 24 and plays out over two days. Day 2 will stream live on PokerGO, along with the final tables of the first nine events across the series.
As always, the player with the best overall series performance walks away with a $10,000 PGT Passport bonus, a gold trophy, and – most importantly – a stack of leaderboard points that could seal a seat in the 40-player season finale.
Satellite tournaments are available through ARIA in the lead-up to the series. The full schedule and structure details can be found at PGT.com.
Jesse Lonis Returns, Alex Foxen Chasing
Jesse Lonis is expected to be back in the mix, looking to defend his PLO Series title from earlier this year. He closed that series with a win, a runner-up finish, and two third-place results – edging out Alex Foxen by a narrow margin. Foxen grabbed a win of his own, but fell just short in the final tally.
Daniel Negreanu, Bryce Yockey, Chino Rheem, and Jim Collopy also found the winner’s circle during that spring run, and most are likely to return.
Players Who’ve Led the PGT PLO Series
The PGT PLO Series debuted in 2023 with a $5,000 event that drew 200 entries – the largest turnout for a PokerGO Studio tournament to date. It has returned each season since, becoming a regular fixture on the tour schedule.
Lautaro Guerra leads all players in total series earnings with more than $1.4 million and four event wins. Finland’s Samuli Sipila recorded two victories during the first 2024 series, including a $15K bounty event where he collected nearly $400K in bounties. Matthew Wantman won the second 2024 series, cashing in six of nine events to edge out Jeremy Ausmus for the points lead.
