Martirosian, Ding Biao, and Haxton Go Big at Triton Jeju

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju wrapped up with three familiar names in high-stakes poker. Martirosian and Ding Biao both picked up a third Triton title, and Isaac Haxton, after years of close calls, finally broke through for his first win on the tour.

Martirosian Makes It Three—and Takes the POY Lead

If you’re tracking Triton’s Player of the Year race, you know that Artur Martirosian means business. He topped a 60-entry field in the $25K PLO Six Max for $421K, holding off Ben Tollerene heads-up and outlasting Alex Foxen and Punnat Punsri. This is his third Triton trophy, and it pushed him nearly 700 points clear in the POY chase.

$25K PLO Six Max final payouts:

  • 1st – Artur Martirosian – $421,000
  • 2nd – Ben Tollerene – $298,000
  • 3rd – Dirk Gerritse – $201,000
  • 4th – Santhosh Suvarna – $152,000
  • 5th – Alex Foxen – $120,000
  • 6th – Punnat Punsri – $93,000

Ding Biao Goes Back-to-Back in Jeju $50K PLO

A day later, Ding Biao defended his title in the $50K PLO Six Max, grabbing his third Triton win (and $880K) after another strong run at the Jeju stop. The field reached 64, and the final table had Lautaro Guerra, Dvoress, Tollerene (again), Garcia, and Dam all in the mix.

Ding certainly had to battle it out to take home the win. But now, as $14.6M of his $18.8M in cashes comes from the Triton tour, he’s officially one of the festival’s biggest crushers and sits right behind Aaron Zang on China’s all-time money list.

$50K PLO Six Max final payouts:

  • 1st – Ding Biao – $880,000
  • 2nd – Lautaro Guerra – $625,000
  • 3rd – Daniel Dvoress – $410,000
  • 4th – Ben Tollerene – $315,000
  • 5th – Cesar Garcia – $250,000
  • 6th – Martin Dam – $195,000

Haxton Finally Nabs His First Triton Title

Isaac Haxton has been a regular at big Triton final tables, but the trophy always managed to slip away – until Jeju. In the $100K Main Event, Haxton worked through a tough field of 116 and finally closed one out, picking up nearly $2.8 million for the win – his biggest live cash yet.

Even with Nacho Barbero and Jesse Lonis making things tricky, Haxton kept his head well above water. The long-awaited Triton 1st place means he leapfrogs Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu on the all-time earnings list – one more milestone for a player whose Hall of Fame case just got an awful lot stronger.

$100k Main final payouts:

  • 1st – Isaac Haxton – $2,789,000
  • 2nd – Nacho Barbero – $1,897,000
  • 3rd – Jesse Lonis – $1,261,000
  • 4th – Robert Cowen – $1,037,000
  • 5th – Raul Byrraju – $838,000
  • 6th – Danny Tang – $655,000
  • 7th – Klemens Roiter – $489,000
