    Default Big Week

    Happy Holidays, everybody!

Last Monday our local casino had another one of those freeroll tournaments for the top 90 cash game players in a 3 week qualifying period. This one had a $50,000 prize pool, with $25,000 for first and $10,000 for second. I meant to post about it prior to the date and ask for wishes of luck, lol, but things have been so crazy I didn't have a chance. Anyway, we chopped it 17 ways for about $3,000 each (more or less) when the blinds got so high that it negated the skill factor (avg chip stack was 80,000 when the blinds were 8000/16,000).
So that was nice, right before Christmas. I haven't been playing tournaments much since my WPT cash game seminar, so it felt good to know I could just slip back into the saddle and be fine.

This past Saturday, my son Jon came back into town for the holidays, and as a Christmas present, I staked him in one of our regular Saturday afternoon tourneys. We got 77 runners, and he chopped it 5 ways for a $500 payday. I was so proud of him.

    Good genes, I guess!

Lol ... birds of a feather, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, two peas in a pod, etc. A great feeling to be sure. I've had some of those myself with my son.

P.S. where did you get that hat? Win it in a raffle?

    Nothing happened.
    That's what happened.

    Awesome!

    That's a nice way to finish 2012.
