Default Would you have called the flop?

Was playing this hand earlier. I had an up and down straight draw and (I think) correct odds to call on the flop, but chose to fold because of the action before me. What do you think? Should I have called?

I didn't do the math myself, but if you had the odds to call you should have called as if you hit your hand you'd pretty much have the nuts with a fairly well-concealed hand. In fact, I would say it was safe to say you even had implied odds to call as you would have been paid off nearly every time I'd imagine.

I think you're right, Rycky. I think I lost my nerve as it was for 1/3 of my stack. I also think I'm reeling a little psychologically: I'm having a downswing at the moment, so I'm not sure I'm always making the most sound decisions.

If it was for a third of your stack and you were getting the proper odds I'd shove. I'm not going to bet that much and later fold.

That's interesting. I think I would've gotten 2 callers given the way the action was going. Would've trebled up :)

You might have, though the AJ guy should have figured out he was beat by then... but I've seen worse. But yes, if you are going to bet/raise in a spot like this and it will cost you a third of your stack to do so, just get it all in. Same preflop, if the proper raise is 30% or more of your stack, just shove.
