    Default A Pair of 7's x 8

Hi guys... I got an email from a nice chap called Jerry in which he said:

I swear this happened - I was playing hold em at a casino and was dealt pocket sevens EIGHT TIMES IN A ROW.
So, does anyone know the odds on this happening? I know it's huge... but I'm curious if anyone knows the exact odds.

P.S. He only won one hand.

Pretty straightforward. The odds of being dealt a specific pair are 4 in 52 times 3 in 51. To get the odds of it happening 8 times in a row, we have to multiply that number by itself another 7 times, so that works out at.... 0,000000000000004% (rounded up a little).

Edit: it's 4am here and I'm working off 3 hours of sleep last night, so don't ask me to do the 1 in xxx conversion.

Nice one J. I knew that you'd know the answer!
