This video is 9 hours long but skip to 8:44:00 - where they mention Paddyjim (who watched the whole thing!). Then watch the epic conclusion:

    Thoughts?

Is the final action unrelated to the previous play or do we need to watch the whole thing to get a feel for the history involved?

I only watched the end. Maybe you missed the bit where I said it's 9 HOURS LONG?!?!

I didn't. I also didn't say I was going to watch it in one sitting. I'll go watch the part you suggested now and see if I feel there's something I need to say.

Well, I have to admit I wasn't expecting that. I might have to watch some more of this final table to see what went down before, as without history it's hard to justify any action but the original open and the shortstack putting his 4BB in with the KQo. SB is guaranteed 2nd or better, he shouldn't tangle with the other big stack and I can't imagine how BB talked himself into a call there. Probably fatigue talking big time there.

I think the announcer was just looking for an excuse to say "Winterbottom".

I had a discussion on Facebook about this hand. I said the play by Mr. 88 was horrible, which it was. Paddy said the guy cost himself $60k by making that play. He also said the AT play was worse, which I initially disagreed with because it's easy to say in hindsight. However, I tend to agree that shoving here was unnecessary - so as usual, Paddy is probably correct.
