    Default Anyone Playing Poker?

    How is everyone?

I recently played my first bit of live poker this year. The home game I used to attend each week has all but fizzled out, but we had a game a couple of weeks ago. There were only 7 runners and I finished 2nd.

The only poker I've played online this year has been a few friendly HU games with TIME. We last played back in March or April. We were due to play on Sunday but things came up, but we'll play again soon.

That's it for me. What about you guys?

I'll be making a return to poker 09/12, trying to turn my FPPs into t$ and attempting to freeroll my way into the Belgian Poker Challenge.

    Default Anyone Playing Poker?

Hey Tim, great to hear from you!

I've been grinding my 3 or 4 weekly $50 tournaments. I've won 2 in the last month, so no complaints there. I've slowed down a bit in the last few months because of more remodeling in my house, but I intend to pick it up as soon as that beast is finished
In fact, I was about halfway to my bankroll goal of $10,000 when this project came up. It's too long of a story but when I get back to my goal I intend to play tournaments for a living and see how that goes.
Lol. It'll probably have to wait until after Christmas at this point.

Going pro really is very cool. Living the dream, Queso. How's the lessons from the poker boot camp working out?

I'm still playing micros. I started a doctoral course back in October and so I've had to dial down my poker playing and dial up my studying. Still, I play when I can - an SNG a nice way to escape for an hour or so. I haven't had time for MTTs of late but I'll hopefully squeeze one in in the next couple of weeks.

Tonight I was a bit bored. It then hit me.... why don't I play some poker? It's been a while since I had such a thought. I jumped straight into the big game.... a $2 nl zoom table. Here are two juicy hands:

Table 'Halley' 6-max Seat #1 is the button
Seat 1: Tim ($2.33 in chips)
    Seat 2: bayern999 ($3.88 in chips)

Seat 4: SharFicRMES ($3.34 in chips)
    Seat 5: ferdi184 ($1.98 in chips)
    Seat 6: zuziek79 ($3.99 in chips)
    bayern999: posts small blind $0.01
    verrocchio82: posts big blind $0.02
    *** HOLE CARDS ***

    Tim: raises $0.38 to $0.56
    ferdi184: calls $0.38
    *** RIVER *** [5c 2d Ad 6s] [Jd]
    ferdi184: bets $1.28 and is all-in
    Tim: calls $1.28
    *** SHOW DOWN ***
ferdi184: shows [Ah Js] (two pair, Aces and Jacks)
Tim: shows [4d 3s] (a straight, Deuce to Six)
    Tim collected $3.94 from pot
    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot $4.08 | Rake $0.14
    Board [5c 2d Ad 6s Jd]
Seat 1: Tim (button) showed [4d 3s] and won ($3.94) with a straight, Deuce to Six
Seat 2: bayern999 (small blind) folded on the Flop

This was my last hand after about 30 minutes. I'm glad I just called on the button.

That sneaky Tim. Calling with both 43o and AA. You just can't read that guy!

Queso going pro? My word. I almost turned pro at the end of 2010. Very glad I didn't, I'd been up shit creek.

It seems I will be getting my FTP money back though, they are starting the process in September. Now, how long it takes to actually receive the money after placing the claim is the great unknown.

Getting your bankroll back, Rycky? Any chance you'll come out of retirement now?

Not all of it. I'll never get what I had on UB.

While I do have a little money left on one of the sites (Juicy Stakes I think its called now?) I don't plan on starting the grind again. I'll take the money from FTP and but it back into my life budget.
