Ok, this is now officially off the wall.

Dutch railway company NS and our own NMBS are considering cancelling the hourly express service between Brussels South and Amsterdam and replacing it with a "reservation only" high speed train which would only call at Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. This is one of the most heavily used commuter trains in our two countries. During rush hour, this train is *packed*: every seat taken, people standing in the aisles and vestibules. Cancelling this train would also leave people flying out of Schiphol airport no alternative but to change trains trice when travelling from Belgium.

Are these people mental or what??
