Hmmm, is your prediction based on a complex statistical analysis of previous data gleaned from the last decade of WSOP Main Event fields? Nope, I thought not.

Default Number of Entrants for WSOP ME?

Sorry, I added an extra "2" by mistake. I'll tell you which "2" it was when it's over!

It looks like it's the first 2. Because 7,000 is looking possible.

With just one day left (1d) there have already been 4,063 entrants. The last day is guaranteed to be more than 1c, so we're looking at 6,244 minimum.

If you look back in this thread you'll see I wanted to change my mind, thinking 5,500 was too high. I'm very surprised to see such a high turnout this year.

Sorry I didn't know there was a Day 1D - my guess was only for Days A-C

I actually thought it would be near 6000 after the WSOP had started but had forgotten about this thread. I think I let the BF thing damper my confidence.

In any case, I stand by my number and will go down with the ship. :)

Ends up over 6800. Tim wins whatever prize he elects to give himself.

Yep. I win. And the prize is a buy-in to the special $1k deep stack event on Full Tilt Poker. Unlucky everyone. Oh wait.
