Default The Pokerology.com Forum Awards 2009

The Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammys, and all the other mutual backslapping award shows – fugetabout them! What we have here is far more prestigious. Yes that’s right – welcome to the Pokerology.com Forum Awards 2009!!!!

I’d first like to say a big thank you to all who have contributed to the forum this year. It was very hard deciding on some of the winners (not to mention the actual awards). However, after much deliberation the panel (that’s me) decided upon the following group of lucky individuals as this year’s winners. In no particular order:

    Best Signature Tag Line:

Winner: Dave Sparrow ("There are only three ways to play pocket Jacks; they’re all wrong")

Best/Worst Attempt at Trying to Win a Pokerology Forum Competition (aka “Nice Try” Award):

    Winner: Malfunctioning (Winning Hand)

The “I Caught a Big Fish” Award:

Winner: Gooner (You Look All Day For Players Like This)

Best Use of a Pokerology T-Shirt:

Winner: TheCol (I'm Back and Still Kickin)
Runners Up: Malfunctioning, Jesus and Gooner – great job representing but sorry guys, nothing can top saving a life!

    Best "In Print Impersonations":

    Winner: TIME (Beefeaters)

Congratulations to all our winners. If you were unfortunate enough to miss out, then please stick around and get involved with the forum. Who knows, with a bit of luck you might be the recipient of one of these exclusive awards in 2010.

I am truly humbled to have been recognized by Pokeroloy.com for this most prestigious award. I want to thank the academy, my parents, God and most of all my adoring fans. I love you all. My most passionate hope is that winning this award may inspire others to know that they too can overcome all obstacles and realize their dreams.

So when should we expect that trophy to be mailed to us? I have a spot picked out on my mantle already.

In all seriousness, thanks for the recognition. I want to thank Jennifear, for its really her brain-child and not originally my creation. I have refined, and further updated, this idea even more as I look to expand my online play in 2010. In fact, expect a very long and detailed post about I plan on doing just that.

Thank you for my Best Suckout Thread award. I am delighted to accept.

I would also like to accept Holly's "You Don’t Know What You’re Talking About” award on her behalf, as she is currently out of reach at an isolated nunnery...

This is like betting out holding 23 with 4 aces on the board and taking it down. My dreams have finally come true. I can win something without doing anything.

You're all very welcome. I'd also like to thank the judging panel for my awards. I'm already thinking up new plans for April Fools 2010, and of course I'm always on the lookout for good puns (a much undervalued skill, IMO).

Rycky - I look forward to your next thread. You have a reputation to live up to now.

Gosh, is there really anything such as a "good pun"? How about this groaner?

Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root

canal? His goal was to transcend dental medication.

If I post my 2010 plan, it'll be pretty long and some of it maybe I'll only understand. It might be longer than some of your front page articles.
