    Default How Ya Running

    Quite simply...how ya running?

    Are you up/down/even for November?

November was my worst month and first losing month since May.

I played about 13,000 hands and ended down $192. The main reason for the loss was losing $208 at $0.25/$0.50 nlhe 6-max, a level I still haven't managed to master.

In November I had a little dabble (500 hands) at heads up (-$50) and may well continue to flirt with it over the coming months.

A couple of months back I set myself a mini goal of reaching $3000 profit for the year and ending the year with at least a $5000 bankroll. If I am going to achieve both of these I will need to win at least $500 this month. Doable, but it would have been easier if I hadn't dropped nearly $200 in November.

Don't play with the idea of "needing to win $500" this month. Just play enough volume to give yourself a chance to get there. That way, if you run around your expected BBs/hr profit, it'll be there.

Just play each hand as best you can and it'll take care of itself.

You're dead right, some good advice.

I only used the word "need" in relation to hitting those loosely set goals. If I don't make $3000/$5000 by December 31 I won't be too upset. I will still have had a good year playing a game that is nothing more than a hobby for me.

Right on Matt ... I've always believed that for accomplished, dedicated recreational players, poker is a wonderful hobby. Most hobbies cost a ton of money for equipment, club dues etc, etc, while if you're capable then poker is a hobby that can pay dividends. Keep up the good work.
To the true gambler, money is never an end in itself, but simply a tool; as language is to thought.

Well let's do another 'How Ya Running' next month - and hopefully you'll have hit your target (though I to agree with Rycky).

Running real good I deposited just $25 on pokerstars and turned it into $275 already just playing low limits and double or nothing sit-n-go's.
