    Default Free poker hand.

Ok guys lets play this hand from a free pub poker game I was in tonight. There are 30 people in the game at this time top 8 get points and the top 3 get paid.

We are the dealer the blinds are 200/100 The UTG has about a 11-12k stack player raises it to 800 to play he is a semi tight guy who limps a few pots and and opens about 1 pot a rotation average. The guy in the CO has about 1800k in chips goes all in. You check your cards to find AKo you have 6200. What do you do.

Oh yeah it was a table of 8 at the time and the guy in the CO shoving seemed a mediocre player at best.Better than a calling station but neither too tight or loose.

Lol one last detail I had only been at the table for about 25 hands at the time. When I sat down one of the regulars recognized me as the guy who took down a a game a few nights back and even said as much and to watch out for me that I was a good player.

Well if you just call you`re inviting the O.R. into the pot. You will have position during the hand but you might want to consider getting it HU with either a 4-bet or a shove.

You could also fold, AK vs a raise and a shove probably means you`re up against at least one pair and a call is commiting over 30% of your stack. Online I`d definitely consider the fold but live where you are dealt far less hands p/h and I`m guessing the structure is a little more rapid you probably should get involved.

With the last little nugget of info about the guy singing your praises I`d be tempted to jam it and clear the O.R. out of the pot.

Easy shove with AKo. Especially at a pub.
I'm not questioning your honor, I'm denying its existence.

Well I sat and thought about it for about 30 seconds I figured I was about 56% vs the OR utg raise range and of that he would fold about 2/3 of it (if he called I would be about 35% 3 way) I then announced that I was all in and then quickly counted off my chips and had them in the middle. The OR sat and stared for a min or two asked the amount again and then after double checking his stack decided to call. The cards were then flipped over. The initial shover had A10o and the OR had pp queens. The cards were dealt and I was sent to the rails with the other shover.

Overall I was very happy with my play. When the OR decided to call he pretty much told me that my range on him was dead on. He almost folded the queens he even admitted. When I got home I checked my figures and it appears that I wasn't far from my mark. Turned out 3 way when the cards were shown I had about 34.5% equity for a chance to almost triple up and if the OR had folded I would have stood a great chance to almost double up. Then adding in the FE I had shoving I felt it was the correct play.

Oh one thing I could have done to improve my chances of getting the OR to fold, I should have asked him his chip-stack size before I shoved. I feel that would have unnerved him a little more. This is something I need to apply more of when playing live and I don't think to do it seeing how I mostly play online anyways. Although I am finding I am enjoying live play much more and do find it easier.

I'd have insta-shoved to hopefully isolate the shortie.

I doubt UTG is folding QQ here with that stack. Unlucky.
