Doc; excellent point. Like I said, I think my mind is kind of branded with this "no calls!" philosophy from the books I read in my original cash game playing days.

I think you're right about playing for survival. Same thing-- I've grabbed on to that 'survival at all costs' philosophy as it relates to tournaments, causing me to overlook opportunities and necessary risks.

I think all of this is going to be helpful in deconstructing my fortresses.
