In a ring game I'd stick to 3BB or even betting the pot, but I don't play cash.
I'm not questioning your honor, I'm denying its existence.

Playing such small stakes, I'd say there's even a case for 4bb raises. In my experience, your opponents in these games not only tend to be overeager to play hands, but also tend to call based on the value of the bet rather than bet size relative to the pot (i.e. your opponent might think "it's only 15c to call" rather than "15c to call a 25c pot").

3bb is unlikely to induce a fold for these guys, 4bb just might, so I would tighten up my starting hand range and raise 4bb. I'd also add 1bb for every limper before you. YMMV

2.5x can work well in tournaments, but not so much in cash games. 3x is a good default raise, but if you're playing in a game where 3x isn't achieving your objectives then be prepared to adjust. That could be 3.5x, 4x, 5x... whatever works.
