Finally had what I would consider a great session yesterday....After studying my play intensely on HEM I actually wrote out a strict plan...the plan was more of what not to do than anything else...I ended up winning back over half my bankroll that had been lost since I started playing NL cash games in one session! I know this has a bunch to do with catching the right cards when my opponents didn't, but I also found myself in much less trouble and decisions were much easier to make...the only real big hit I took during the session was calling an all in bet preflop where I had K-K and the bettor had 6-6...he hit 2 6's so there was nothing I could do...just wanted to say thanks to all you guys who replied to my posts and such getting my wheels turning in a different direction...without looking at the game in a different light I would be stuck playing live against the same 8 people and hating the internet action
Thanks again Pokerology!

Awesome!
HEM is a great tool. As for the KK vs 66, that's not a mistake. In HEM there's a column called "All-in EV" and for that hand you'll see what that play would win/lose in the long term..... so look at that rather than the result (note: that's just for all-in situations). |

Congrats, Ed. Glad you feel your cash game is improving!
I hope by 3:00 today, however, that your tournament skills are degrading. |

One would have to possess said skills in order for them to decline...
