playin $25NL(100BB) on Pokerstars
SB $30.95 BB$16.75 UTG $10.75 UTG+1 $26.05 UTG+2 $31.06 UTG+3$61.04 HJ $29.58(us) hole cards 99 C/O $29.26 D $25.36 UTG+1 raises it up to$0.85, +2 folds, +3 folds, we call in psoition, the rest fold around leaving us heads up to the flop. 9c 2c Ks UTG+1 C bets for $1.50 we of course smooth call, turn is the 5d( board now 9c 2c Ks 5d)(pot is now $4.80ish) UTG chks turn. and after comtemplation we bet $3, and almost instantly we get popped to $9.75. waiting for the timer to ding, i shove the $23. (his last $13) ok we still have $24 behind and this guy still has approx $13 in his stak. so my question is should i have smooth called and tried to get him to bet again. or was i right in pushing right then and there. my train of thought was that if he had the king and raised he is committed and if he was on some kind crazy man play with a flush draw i was going to pout him and when he was 4-1 to hit. do you think i misplayed the turn? |

Of course it depends on your opponent, but I would be more inclined to call and let him stack off on the river. I don't think he's committed to the hand.... he probably has a hand like AK and knows he's beat. He might shutdown once you call, so who knows. I also think letting the clock run down and then shoving is a sign of super strength. If I was going to fire back then I'd have done it quicker and hope he makes an impulse call.

Yeah I think I would have taken the line Tim suggested. I don`t think the shove is a horrible line though.

Yeah, you're kind of letting him know you have a monster with the tank/shove. I'll do this sometimes as a bluff!-- but not very often.
