My thoughts were the same as Tim's - I believe they should have re-created the three flop cards. If the players/dealer couldn't remember (or agree) they could go to the camera. Then just play the hand out. Obviously this means that certain cards would be in the deck that shouldn't be - the burn card and other players' folded cards - but it's as close as you could get.
I think a slightly worse (but still OK option) is to split the pot between the two remaining players. It's possible that Player A would not wish this though, seeing as he has just made a bet, but you have to go with whatever the floor ruling is.
What in fact happened was that there was a lot of discussion around these points and in the end the two players agreed to simply split the pot and everybody moved onto the next hand. This was partly due to the fact that the dealer was relatively inexperienced but everybody liked him and I think the players didn't want to make a big fuss about it. The pot wasn't very big - it may have gone differently if the pot had been large.
They never found out what the floor would have ruled.
