As part of my acceptance speech for the "Donkey of the Tournament Award" for Donking off all my chips at the final table with 7-2 off I thought I would at least share my ill conceived plan.

The final table started out tight and when I picked up 7-2 and it was Tim's blind, I thought I would have some fun. The plan---fire out a 4x BB bet, have everyone fold and then show my 7-2 to bust Tim's chops. However, I got a caller (oops, not part of the plan). OK, no problem, I'll push him off his piece of cheese that was only worth a call with a half pot continuation bet. Oops, he calls! Now I check and he checks back and the river makes the second pair on board but the flush didn't make it. I know I'm toast for a check/check showdown so I decide to push. Oops again ... and as the say, three oops and you're out. What started out as a lark to have fun with Tim's big blind became my undoing. It will be highlighted in my up and coming book, "When Great Plans Run off the Rails". one for each "Oops".

My other excuse is that I had a brain fart and thought I was on High Stakes Poker and the "7-2" was on! Either way nobody can call me a nit!

Great illustration of how different people play in different spots. If I was gonna steal from Tim's spot, I'd have shoved (and I would have tried from the cutoff). As played, I'd have shoved in Harald's spot also with the idea that 88 is killing Tim's raise/calling range from that position. Worked out very well for you this way however!
